ALLELUIA!

ALLELUIA!

The word “alleluia” is a word of great joy. Praise the Lord! Praise Yah! Therefore, during Lent and especially on Good Friday it has traditionally not been sung. However, when Easter morning breaks then our voices join the strain:

Christ the Lord is risen today, Alleluia!

That Easter day with joy was bright, the sun shone out with fairer light, when, to their longing eyes restored, the glad apostles saw their Lord. Hallelujah!

Now let the vault of heaven resound in praise of Love that doth abound, “Christ hath triumphed, Alleluia!”

The strife is o’er, the battle done; the victory of life is won; the song of triumph has begun. Alleluia!

We even add “alleluia” to the doxology (to the tune Lasst uns erfreuen):
Praise God from whom all blessings flow, praise Him all creatures here below: Alleluia! Alleluia!

Please join us this Sunday morning in celebrating the finished work of Christ.

ALLELUIA!
